It was like plunging deep into a pool and having the sounds fade and the moment slowed, leaving the party behind.
Not with a big splash, not with a dramatic exit but quietly sneaking off.
Sneaking off into that world that is just ours, yours and mine, for now and forever.
Sneaking off not to escape the joy, the love of others, our friends and our family, but rather to drown out the other noise so that we might hear our own hearts beat as one.
And then we return to the surface and fill our lungs again with life and are welcomed back with laughter and warmth.
